1. Who we are

FFT Plumbing & Heating ("we", "us", "our") is a sole-trader plumbing & heating business based at 28 Running Waters, Brentwood, Essex CM13 2AP, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website and our services.

2. What we collect

• Contact details you submit via our quote form, WhatsApp, or phone: name, phone number, postcode, and a brief description of the job.
• Job records such as the address visited, work carried out, invoices and photographs of the work for our own records and warranty purposes.
• Technical data automatically collected when you visit the site (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) for security and basic analytics.

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

3. How we use it

• To respond to quote requests and arrange appointments.
• To carry out the plumbing or heating work you have asked us to do.
• To send invoices and keep accounting records (legal obligation, retained 6 years).
• To honour our 12-month workmanship guarantee.
• To improve our website and prevent fraud or abuse.

4. Legal basis

We process your personal data under the following lawful bases of the UK GDPR: (a) contract — to provide the services you have requested; (b) legitimate interests — to run and improve our business; and (c) legal obligation — to keep tax, gas safety and insurance records.

5. Sharing your data

We never sell your data. We share it only with: our Gas Safe registered sub-contractors when gas work is involved; HMRC and our accountant for tax purposes; suppliers (e.g. WhatsApp / Meta) used to receive your messages; and law enforcement when legally required.

6. WhatsApp messages

Our quote form opens WhatsApp on your device with your details pre-filled. Once you press send, the message is delivered through Meta's WhatsApp service and is subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy.

7. How long we keep it

Quote enquiries that don't result in work: 12 months. Customer job records and invoices: 6 years (HMRC requirement). Gas safety records: as required by current Gas Safe regulations.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, and to data portability. This website uses only essential cookies required for it to function. We do not currently use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy and request your consent.
